Diversity at VWFS

Celebrating diversity

At VWFS we’re passionate about creating a culturally strong workplace where all of our colleagues feel comfortable being their 100% authentic self.

We want to celebrate diversity, create an environment where all differences are valued, ensure everyone has access to the same opportunities and inspire our colleagues to collaborate and lead inclusively every day.

100% us

At VWFS, we place a great deal of importance on creating a culturally strong environment, and we recognise that maintaining a healthy and inclusive workplace involves constant evolution.

One way we can ensure continuous positive change, is by sharing and listening to each other’s experiences, educating ourselves and developing as individuals so that we can all grow and expand our understanding together. Some colleagues have bravely come forward to share their experiences.

A Great Place To Work®

We are delighted to be recognised as one of the 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces™ by Great Place To Work® UK! This recognition is based on the completion of Great Place To Work employee engagement survey with feedback provided directly by our colleagues.

The data and insights help us understand our employees experience of working with us, what is working well and where we need to focus and make improvements.

Our workplace

Hybrid working

Our hybrid working policy means that most of our colleagues can work from home for part of their working week. Everyone comes in for a minimum of 60% of their contracted hours, this can be more depending on which career you pursue with us.

Smart-Casual dress

Our smart/casual dress code allows you to wear what you feel comfortable and for you to be your authentic self at work.

Office spaces

In our offices, we have quiet spaces as well as more collaborative areas to create a comfortable working environment for all of our colleagues.

Personal adjustments

We will make adjustments for you depending on your needs, to ensure that you can perform at your best and feel supported and involved at work.

Hearing from our colleagues

Exchange Programme

Reciprocal partnerships

The Reciprocal Partnership scheme works by pairing colleagues from different roles and backgrounds, encouraging two-way conversations to share their lived experiences. This drives a more diverse and inclusive culture, where individuals feel seen, heard and comfortable to be 100% themselves.

Employee Network and Resource Groups (ERGs)

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a vital part of our 100% Us Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy, created in direct response to colleague feedback and shaped with support from external DEI specialists. These groups have quickly grown into a powerful force for culture building across VWFS, providing safe, supportive spaces for colleagues to connect, share lived experiences and influence meaningful change.

Our ERGs—Race & Ethnicity, Disability & Neurodiversity, Proud (LGBTQIA+), and Parents & Carers - champion equity and inclusion by addressing the real barriers colleagues may face and by celebrating the diversity that strengthens our business. They offer opportunities for open discussion, storytelling, and awareness raising, helping all colleagues feel valued, represented and heard. Through active involvement in business initiatives, DEI reporting, strategic discussions, and educational activities, ERGs now play a critical advisory role in ensuring our policies, services and ways of working meet the needs of our diverse workforce and customer base.

This work is already creating visible impact. The groups regularly share lived experiences to deepen understanding, host conversations that challenge assumptions, and champion intersectionality - recognising that many colleagues may identify across multiple ERG communities. They support cultural events, drive improvements in accessibility and inclusion, and act as a trusted voice in shaping our future DEI priorities. As our DEI strategy progresses, ERGs are now recognised as a cornerstone of our inclusive culture at VWFS UK.

Can I Say That? Podcast Series

Can I Say That? is our internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) podcast, created to spark honest conversations and build confidence in inclusive communication. Each episode hosted by our Inclusive Language and Actions group and joined by colleagues from around the business, shares real experiences to raise awareness, strengthen empathy, and foster a culture of openness where everyone feels a genuine sense of belonging.

Launched in 2023, the series has quickly become an award winning platform for meaningful dialogue. In 2025, it was recognised across the global VWFS community, winning the ‘Best in Diversity’ award and being shortlisted alongside ten other standout international DEI initiatives.

Inclusion Live Events

The Inclusion Live series is a flagship part of our 100% Us DEI strategy, designed to bring colleagues together through powerful storytelling, real lived experiences, and meaningful conversation. Each session invites an external speaker to share a human story that deepens empathy, broadens perspectives, and helps us build a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Across all events, Inclusion Live has become a trusted space for learning, reflection and connection. These conversations help colleagues understand diverse lived experiences, challenge assumptions, and strengthen our inclusive culture - one meaningful story at a time. It’s now a cornerstone of how we bring DEI to life, helping ensure every voice and perspective contributes to a more empathetic, open and connected VWFS.

"We help and support our colleagues in the workplace by offering adjustments - such as specialist software - so that everyone can feel confident in their job and successfully carry out their roles and responsibilities."
