We’re looking for a Corporate Credit Assessment Operations Manager to manage our team of Corporate Credit Analysts and Corporate Credit Specialists
In this important role, you'll be responsible for implementing robust controls to support compliant Corporate Credit Assessment decision making aligned to the European Central Bank (ECB) regulation and requirements of Volkswagen Bank's European Organisational Handbook (E-OHB). You will have an underwriting mandate of £10m and will also have a portfolio of corporate credit customers
What you’ll be doing:
- Your £10m mandate will be for approval or decline for VWFS UK Fleet proposals and VW Bank UK wholesale products. And, you'll be the gate keeper for Corporate Credit Assessment 1st vote process and procedures to ensure the function is "audit ready"
- Preparing credit applications and making recommendations for VWFS and VW Bank which includes credit limits, supporting securities and lending conditions
- Supporting and developing your team to perform at their best, role modelling effective leadership to enable a positive and inclusive culture
- You'll conduct quality assurance activities to ensure your team meet or exceed the ECB and FCA regulations. And, you'll also conduct annual reviews for your portfolio of customers within structured schedules
- Work across the department to implement reporting for Data Processing requirements and the Corporate Risk Committee Review submissions that reflect customers credit status
- You'll take ownership for ensuring all corporate customer data is securely captured and maintained in relevant systems for example: Experian, KYC checks, Anti Money Laundering checks and End of Reviews including Limit Switches and any lending conditions
- Implementing efficiencies between VWFS and Corporate Credit Assessment ensuring workflows support sales channels for our Fleet customers
What you’ll bring:
You’ll be an experienced manager who can engage, motivate, inspire and develop your team through effective coaching and performance management
You’ll have worked in this capacity or environment previously with advanced financial knowledge so you can interpret and analyse balance sheets and make informed recommendations for lending and required security
Essential experience & skills
- Experience in a regulated organisation to support setting standards of behaviour, culture and performance are embedded within your team and the wider function
- Coaching and mentoring, managing performance and delivering meaningful feedback
- You are analytical and can use this skill to understand customer financial performance and, develop reporting to effectively analyse and monitor portfolio performance
- You're a great communicator across all of your stakeholders and you have the integrity to stand by your decisions even when you're under commercial pressure
- Excellent organisation skills, you can manage multiple tasks and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines while supporting and developing your team
- You may have already held responsibility for 1st Vote credit applications in a previous role and fully understand what this means
