SALARY: £48,000 - £55,000 PA dependant on experience

HYBRID WORKING: Our current hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 20% of working time to be based in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the business and the role.

We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to be responsible for supporting the delivery of the monthly/quarterly and annual reporting to the HQ Accounting team, internal reporting for management, assisting the operational management of all audit activity including the quarterly, interim and annual external audit across multiple stakeholders throughout the business.
This specialist role will be instrumental in preparing monthly analysis, performance and review of balance sheet reconciliations and follow up investigations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Key contributor to the monthly submission of the financial package to the HQ Accounting team for VWFS and the deconsolidation package, including the preparation of internal reporting schedules with comparisons to forecast and the timely resolution of reporting queries from the HQ Accounting Team.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger in SAP FI.
- Performance of month end processes and posting of journals to complete the month end position of VWFS and VWB where required. This includes working with other areas of the business to ensure all required journals are accurately posted in line with the month end timetable.
- Providing information and analysis to auditors (internal and external) for quarterly, interim and year end audits. Working alongside other areas of the business to ensure audit requests are fulfilled on a timely basis.
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations including the identification of any risks on individual balance sheet accounts and the resolution of issues.
- Responsibility for understanding and completing reporting tasks including managing and running commission models, insurance postings, swaps and hedge accounting, payroll, leases, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and contingent provisions.

Essential experience & skills
- Experience dealing with a varied and large number of inputs and collating them into final submissions.
- Experience of month end reporting and preparing accounts under IFRS
- Technical accounting knowledge and understanding.
- Working knowledge of SAP FI preferable.
- Competent with Microsoft office products and Advanced Excel skills.
- Thorough knowledge of balance sheet account reconciliations and controls, and how they fit into the overall reporting process.
- Ability to work under pressure, make sound decisions and prioritise ensuring delivery of quality data to strict deadlines
- Ability to effectively manage/influence stakeholders to ensure accuracy, productivity and efficiency while ensuring compliant working practices.
- A good eye for detail and a focus on accuracy and data quality, but also an ability to understand results in the context of other reporting and business knowledge.
